LIVE Transfer Talk: Chelsea has again made a bid for Frenkie de Jong of Barcelona

Manchester United and Barcelona £17m apart on Frenkie de Jong valuations

According to The Telegraph, Chelsea is getting ready to meet with Barcelona to discuss a double transfer for Frenkie de Jong and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. According to the report, Chelsea could spend up to £300 million on summer signings as long as new owner Todd Boehly supports manager Thomas Tuchel. Additionally, after ESPN revealed the Blues’ interest in Aubameyang and FC Salzburg striker Benjamin Sesko earlier on Thursday, it appears that they are now eager to pursue De Jong once more.

After agreeing to an €85 million total fee with Manchester United, Blaugrana is looking to offload the 25-year-old midfielder this summer. However, they may have a much better chance of doing so if they can fully negotiate with Chelsea. The Dutch international reportedly has a much better attitude toward the idea of moving to Stamford Bridge due to Champions League play than he did when he was asked to leave Camp Nou to join United.

Aubameyang, 33, impressed for Barcelona last season, scoring 11 goals in 17 La Liga appearances. Chelsea is also still looking for Romelu Lukaku’s replacement, and he currently tops their shortlist. This summer, Barca already acquired Robert Lewandowski and Rafinha, so the former Gabon international may be unnecessary.
