According to Bild, the potential Qatari buyer of Manchester United intends to make a splash in the summer market by signing Paris Saint-Germain attacker Kylian Mbappe.
Qatar-backed At the end of April, Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al-Thani and British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe both made bids to purchase Manchester United from the Glazer family.
Sheikh Jassim only wants to buy the team outright, which would pay off all debt and free up cash for transfers. As a result, a triple swoop involving three France internationals is planned, with Mbappe being pursued along with Eduardo Camavinga of Real Madrid and Kingsley Coman of Bayern Munich.
Mbappe, 24, is regarded as the best young player in football and just extended his contract with PSG through the summer of 2024. Last summer, he turned down a free move to Real Madrid to stay with PSG. His transfer fee could break the €222m world record set by Neymar’s move to Paris from Barcelona in 2017.
