LIVE Transfer Talk: Harry Kane has not refused Bayern Munich’s contact regarding leaving Tottenham

Harry Kane’s advisors have met with Bayern Munich about a prospective transfer to the team. According to BILD, the England captain’s camp did not firmly reject a move to Germany, leaving the door open for a possible transfer.

It happens as the Bavarian team tries to find a new star to replace Robert Lewandowski, who departed the team for Barcelona this summer. In 375 games across his eight-year tenure, the 33-year-old scored 344 goals.

Despite the addition of Sadio Mane from Liverpool, Bayern may not have the same presence that Lewandowski’s absence left behind. Kane, a forward for Tottenham, has been suggested as a replacement for the Poland international because he possesses the leadership experience needed to guide a line and the skills necessary to score goals.

Following a failed transfer to Manchester City in the summer, the 28-year-old still has two years left on his deal. Talks, though, are reportedly being scheduled about a new contract that may let him remain in north London and add to his 247 goals in 385 games for Tottenham.

Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann told reporters on Friday, while in the U.S. on the club’s pre-season tour: “He’s very expensive that’s the problem — but brilliant player, one of two or three who can play as a center-forward [as well as a] No 10, but he’s very strong, brilliant with [his] head and both feet.

“He could score a lot in the Bundesliga, I don’t know the price, but it’s tough for Bayern Munich. We’ll see what happens in the future.”
